Course Information

This course will enable the candidate to undertake duties of a crane supervisor as defined by the appointed person complying with legislation regulations Codes of Practice and industrial requirements. By the end of the course delegates will have the knowledge to be able to design safe lifting plans that are compliant with the law and take into account all health and safety requirements on site

Who Should Attend?

Supervisors and managers with responsibility for supervising lifting operations who have sufficient experience of the use of cranes to meet the requirements specified in British Standard 7121 Safe Use of Cranes. This course is aimed at people that already have site experience working as a slinger / signaller and want to progress onto the next level.

Course Agenda

Day 1- Theory Training; Day 2- Practical Training; Day 3- Practical Training; Day 4- Theory and Practical Testing.

Training starts at 08:00am and finishes at approximately 16:00pm.

To reach us, start from the A329M in Reading, heading west. Stay right to remain on the A329M and take the exit towards Wharfedale Rd. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Wharfedale Rd, then a slight left towards A3290. Continue onto A3290, then left at the Showcase Roundabout onto Reading Rd/A329. Follow this road straight, taking the 1st exit at the next roundabout onto Old Forest Rd. A slight right onto Toutley Rd will lead you to Queens Rd, where youll take the 1st exit at the next roundabout onto Twyford Rd/A321. Accreditation

Candidates who successfully complete the 5 Days Crane Supervisor Lifting Operations CPCS A62 training course will be awarded a Red CPCS Crane Supervisor card, valid for two years. This card is a testament to their competence in crane supervision and lifting operations. To maintain their accreditation, candidates must complete an NVQ within the two-year period. Upon successful completion of the NVQ, they will qualify for a Blue CPCS card, which is valid for five years. The course includes a blend of classroom-based tutorials and practical sessions, ensuring participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the crane supervisors role and responsibilities. Assessment will be conducted through both theory and practical tests to validate their knowledge and skills. This accreditation not only enhances career prospects but also signifies a commitment to safety and professionalism within the industry. Successful candidates will be well-prepared to manage lifting operations effectively and efficiently..

On the last day of the course, candidates will be theory tested, this is a verbal test, one on one with the tester and it will be recorded. Once they have achieved this, they will then be practical tested, outside on the machine.. If the candidate does not reach the required marks, then they will not achieve the tests and will need re-scheduling.
